Terms of Use

Last Updated: August 2026

Welcome to St Albans Online, operated by the St Albans Residents Association (SARA). By accessing or using this website, you agree to comply with these Terms of Use.

1. Website Content & Directory Accuracy

St Albans Online features content submitted directly by local businesses, community groups, and residents.

  • Disclaimer: SARA is not directly responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of user-submitted listings or community content. It is the responsibility of business owners and group organisers to maintain and update their details.

  • Inaccuracies: While we make every effort to prevent inappropriate content from appearing on the site, we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy of all listings. If you notice inaccurate or outdated content, please notify us via our contact form at www.stalbans.nz/contact.

2. Listing Eligibility & Geographic Boundaries

Listings on the St Albans Online directory are reserved for entities and organisations located within the recognised geographic boundaries of St Albans.

  • Submissions from outside this area may not be approved.

  • SARA reserves full discretion regarding the approval, refusal, or removal of any listing or submission.

3. Directory Fees & Commercial Listings

  • Free Period: All listings are guaranteed free of charge for the first year of the St Albans Online website being live, at least until September 2027.

  • Future Commercial Fees: Following the initial free period, SARA may introduce a nominal fee for commercial business listings. If a fee structure is introduced, details will be published on the website in advance. Businesses will have the option to pay the fee to maintain their listing or request to have their listing removed.

  • Non-Profits & Community Groups: Directory listings for charitable groups, non-profit organisations, and community clubs will always remain free.

4. User Conduct & Submissions

Users submitting content (events, stories, directory items) must ensure their submissions do not contain unlawful, offensive, defamatory, or infringing material. SARA reserves the right to edit or remove any submitted content at its sole discretion without prior notice.

5. Intellectual Property & Branding

  • Photos, stories, and historical contributions submitted to the site remain the property of their respective creators; however, by submitting content, you grant SARA a non-exclusive licence to publish and display the material on St Albans Online and related SARA promotional materials.

  • All original text, design layouts, graphics, and logos associated with both the St Albans Residents Association (SARA) and St Albans Online are the intellectual property of SARA and protected under New Zealand copyright and trademark laws. These assets may not be reproduced, copied, or used without prior written permission.

6. External Links

St Albans Online contains links to external third-party websites (such as local business pages, social media platforms, and external community tools). SARA is not responsible for the content, privacy policies, accuracy, or practices of these external sites.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, SARA will not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, damage, or disruption resulting from your use of this website, reliance on directory information, or any temporary website outages and technical issues.

8. Updates to Terms

SARA reserves the right to amend or update these Terms of Use at any time. Any changes will take effect immediately upon being posted on St Albans Online. Your continued use of the website following any updates indicates your acceptance of the revised terms.
