Auckland gobbles Edgeware Village plan

Is Auckland grabbing the Edgeware Village revamp plan for its waterfront redesign?

Well if this screenshot of Auckland newspaper The Aucklander is anything to go by. The article might still be there under the heading Council Bodies Tussle Over Waterfront plan

We think supersized Auckland is big enough already without taking over Christchurch and big enough to come up with its own designs. :-0

On the other hand, given the earth reshaping events of 2010 and 2011, turning Edgeware Road into a canal, complete with Venetian-style gondolas might not be such a bad idea after all.
