In a city where demolitions of older buildings seem to be a daily occurrence comes this news reported in the Press of the planned restoration of Chippenhnam.

Built in the 1860s, the two storey brick house has been owned by a commune since the 1960s. The building once housed Labour Cabinet Minister Marion Hobbs and was the birthplace in New Zealand of Greenpeace and the Women’s Refuge movement.
